NY- Hello Vanessa, first let me ask if you remember that moment taking those pics? lol
Vanessa - Of course! They're still on my myspace page. I'm really silly sometimes....
NY- Now how would you like people to say your name when they approach you? Vanessa, Nessa, or Ms. Veasley?
Vanessa - Vanessa is fine. People that call me Nessa usually have a Vanessa in their own family/circle, or they're trying to force a familiarity with me.
No one that knows me well calls me that. Some friends call me Vee. Closest fam calls me Sess... (I don't know where that came from) lol
NY- I heard that you were once the managing editor of Show, give me the plus and minuses of being a magazine editor
for a great magazine like Show?
Vanessa - I was managing editor, then promoted to editor. I loved it! It's cool to be a part of the creative process behind the scenes.
The only drawback was being in an office surrounded by chips and soda all day (temptation), and not having as much time to dedicate to my own modeling.
I'd love to eventually do something else in publishing when I slow down...
NY- Random: A friend with benefits or is there a special someone in your life?
Vanessa - I'm single, and having fun dating. My schedule/lifestyle doesn't really permit anything super serious right now.
NY- I read that you are a big baseball fan, is that true? Shout out your team?
Vanessa - Baseball is the only sport I follow. I like basketball & football if I'm there. I'm a Phillies fan for life!
NY- Tell me how did this muffin world start? and can I be one of your members? lol
Vanessa - lol sometimes I refer to my twitter followers as muffins. Muffins are my favorite food group. Also if you call a cupcake a "muffin"
It instantly becomes healthier for you. Fact! lol
NY - Got to love a Sexy and Smart woman!!!
NY- Without saying their name, pick a Sci-Fi movie of your Fantasy guy?
Vanessa - Twelve Monkeys
NY - Nice pick lol
NY- To save us from alien attack, how would you seduce an alien?
Vanessa - Any aliens that would invade us would be highly evloved beings. They would most likely not have a raging sex drive, and may even reproduce in a
totally different way. Sorry guys, these tatas might not to the trick. [giggle]
NY- Tell everyone about your show The Candy Shop? When is it on?
Vanessa - The Candy Shop is a Blog Talk Radio Show that I co-host with model/TV personality Brooke Bailey. We talk about industry topics as well as personal
ones, and have all types of great guest apperances. We're on Wednesdays at 11PM E.S.T.
NY- Tell me one thing about your co-host Brooke Bailey that always makes you laugh and smile?
Vanessa - Brooke is never afraid to ask the questions that are on everyone's mind. It's awesome and sometimes catches our guests off gaurd. I often have to pull
away to keep from crackin up during the whole show!
NY- What advice did you get when you first came into modeling, that you would tell new models not follow?
Vanessa - When I started out. Everyone wanted to change my name. I remember being on a conference call with a magazine editor, and a manager(I didn't work with)
and them telling me "Veasley sounds like a school-teacher". I stuck to my guns and I've built a brand around the name on my birth certificate. I think it's awesome if
a girl takes on an alias as long as it isn't cheesy and won't pidgeon-hole her, but I think they should know that if they don't have to.
NY- I read that you like comic books and dream of being a Super Hero? What powers would you want to have?
Vanessa - Yes! My superhero me would be able to bend the fabric of space-time. No one out can do that yet! lol
NY- Every hero has theme music, what would yours be?
Vanessa - Not sure. Maybe some funky 70's music...
NY- If a guy could get one clue on how to be a better boyfriend/lover, what clue would you give him?
Vanessa - I just think it's important for guys to be consistant. Some guys go way too hard in the begining of a relationship doing things that they know they can't keep up.
If you can't do long phone convos, expensive meals all the time, trips, etc. That's ok, but don't set the tone like you can. Guys always kick out a little more energy during a
courtship period, but when it ends, your girl shouldn't be looking at a completely different person.
NY- I would like to thank Vanessa Veasley for this interview
Vanessa - Thanks for having me!
